About Academics for Peace

We are a group of Israeli American, Palestinian, and Jewish academics who recognize the right of all people between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea to self-determination and full equality. We call for an immediate ceasefire and an all-for-all prisoner/hostage exchange.

Our mission: We help academics shift public opinion on Israel/Palestine, by sharing their expertise more than ever before.

Scholars of Israel/Palestine are uniquely skilled to educate the public on this topic; when they are committed to justice and equality for all Palestinians and Jews, their potential for shaping public opinion is vast. We bring academics to social media, through short-form videos. One viral video at a time, we are moving the needle.

our videos have garnered 7,351,844 views,

How did we start? We began our organizing in August 2023, amid the Israeli government’s judicial overhaul. As hundreds of thousands of Israelis took to the streets to defend democracy, we called attention to the Elephant in the Room - the reality that for millions of Palestinians, there was no democracy at all. Three other petitions followed, signed by thousands of academics, Nobel Prize winners, and Pulitzer awardees. Starting June 2024, we turned to social media, where we’ve been growing ever since. Our academics explain Israel/Palestine, past and present, in 90-second segments.
